The 36th World Zionist Congress took place in Jerusalem at the International Conference Center on Tuesday June 15th to Thursday June 17th, 2010.

The Masorti Olami & MERCAZ Olami delegation met on Sunday, June 13th in the evening and Monday, June 14th all day for PRE-CONGRESS PREPARATION.

 
The information below was relevant to the delegation :
 
If you will be attending the Congress as a Delegate or Alternate Delegate, please arrange your travel plans in order to be present from Sunday until Thursday.

Shabbat meals in Jerusalem

 
1.    PRE-CONGRESS SHABBAT MEALS:  Dr. Marilyn Wind, MERCAZ USA's Treasurer, will be arriving in Israel several days before the Congress and will be spending the Shabbat before the start of the MERCAZ Olami orientation meetings in Jerusalem at the United Synagogue’s Fuchsberg Center.  She suggests that anyone who is similarly arriving early and would like to get together for Shabbat dinner on Friday night June 11th. If you would like to join, please contact her by email to arrange your meals reservation at Fuchsberg marilyn_wind@hotmail.com .

2.    POST-CONGRESS / PRE-ASSEMBLY SHABBAT MEALS:  A number of us will be spending the Shabbat between the WZO Congress and the Jewish Agency Assembly in Jerusalem, at one of the downtown hotels in Jerusalem (Fuchsberg, Prima Royale, Dan Panorama, Inbal, etc).  With the help of our colleague Rabbi Jerry Epstein, we have made arrangements with the catering office at the Fuchsberg Center to have group meals for Shabbat June 18-19th.  Friday night dinner and Shabbat lunch will cost $36 each for an enhanced menu in a private dining room.  Seudah Shlishit on Saturday evening will run $18 for the standard menu in the regular dining room.   The meal times will be set to afford participants to participate in Shabbat services at one of the many area synagogues.
If you are interested in joining the MERCAZ group for Shabbat meals, please rsvp to info@mercazusa.org and include the following information:  Number & name(s) of participants & which meal(s).  Payment for these Shabbat meals will be collected by Rabbi Robert Golub, Director of MERCAZ USA, during the Zionist Congress.  Thursday, June 10th will be the cut-off date for making, changing or cancelling reservations.
