Masorti Olami is proud to announce that our annual Evening of Tribute Event, which will take place on Sunday, November 14th, 2010 at JTS in New York City.

This year we are honoring three outstanding Jewish leaders, who have worked tirelessly to promote the values and scope of the worldwide Masorti/Conservative movement.

Rabbi Zachary Heller z"l will receive the Rabbi Mordecai Waxman Memorial Rabbinic & Community Leadership Award. Rabbi Heller passed away earlier this year after committing his life to the Jewish people and holding both lay and professional positions within the Masorti/Conservative movement which included serving as President of Masorti Olami from 1989 to 1993.

Hazzan David Propis will receive the Hiddur Mitzvah Award. Hazzan Propis serves Congregation Beth Yeshurun in Houston, Texas - the largest Conservative congregation in the United States. He has also built a successful career of performing and recording both cantorial and contemporary music and is currently President of the Cantors Assembly.

Mr Peter Miller will receive the Sherut L'Am - Service To The Nation Award. Mr Miller is a dedicated supporter of the worldwide Masorti/Conservative movement, taking an active role in developing the movement in the USA, Israel and around the world. He is a real-estate lawyer in New York City, and lived for many years in Caldwell, NJ.

The event will take place on Sunday, November 14th ~ 7th Kislev at 5:00pm at the Jewish Theological Seminary, 3080 Broadway, New York, NY.
