Paris add-on option for Israel Mission

·      Leave United States
Tuesday
·      Arrival in Paris in the morning.
·      Bags delivered to hotel.
·      Half-day tour of Paris city-center and Historic Marais District.
·      Check-in at hotel in afternoon.
·      Open evening.
Wednesday
·      Travel to Troyes (2.5 hours from Paris)
·      Preserved Medieval town tour; the birthplace of Rashi.
·      Troyes is the 'Factory Outlet' capital of Europe—free afternoon to do some shopping and site seeing there.
·      Main Visit: Cathedral, Rashi Monument, Rashi Synagogue and Tools Museum.
Thursday
·      Visit villages of Remerupt and Dampierre. These served as the home centers for important Rabbis of the Tosefot School, including Rashbam, Rabeinu Tam and Ri HaZaken.
·      Visit local wine cellar. [Troyes is the main city of the Champaign region.]
·      Return to Paris in the evening.
Friday
·      Free morning and visit option to Jewish Museum.
·      Preparation for Shabbat.
·      Kabbalat Shabbat and dinner with Adath Shalom Community.
Shabbat
·      Morning prayers at Adath Shalom Synagogue.
·      Lunch with community hospitality.
·      Walking tour of the area in the afternoon to include:
1.     The École Militaire – Site of the Dreyfus trial, which inspired Herzl to found the Zionist Movement.
2.     The synagogue on Chasseloup-Laubat street.
3.     The Vélodrome d'Hiver ("Winter Velodrome")
4.     The site where Parisian Jews were rounded up during the World War II.
5.     Deportation Memorial.

·      Maariv/Havdalah
Sunday
·      Fly to Israel for remainder of mission.
