Repaired at last - work is completed on the Masorti synagogue in Concepcion following the Earthquake in Feb 2010

After months of fund-raising, planning and building work, repairs at Comunidad Israelita de Concepción, in Concepcion, Chile are now complete. The synagogue building was badly damaged follolwing the massive earthquake whicn struck the region at the end of February, 2010. The synagogue sanctuary was damaged beyond use by the earthquake, and was re-opened just before Channukah at the conclusion of lenghty repairs and engineering inspections.

The completion of a dream – David Touboul is ordained as a Masorti Rabbi

After nearly 5 years of study, practice and patience, David Touboul was ordained as a Masorti Rabbi by the Schechter Rabbinical Seminary in Jerusalem last night. The Schechter Rabbinical Seminary ordained 3 new Rabbis at its 23rd Ordination Ceremony, bringing the total number of graduates to 84 since the Seminary began in 1984.
