New Masorti AMLAT Board of Directors
The new Board of Masorti AMLAT officially began their tenure on November 29, the date that marks the 60th anniversary of the UN declaration. Rabbi Tzvi Graetz, International Executive Director of Masorti Olami and MERCAZ Olami was present at the meeting as he was visiting Buenos Aires.
The newly appointed Board of Masorti AMLAT for the period 2008-2009 are:
President: Mario Grunebaum (Brazil)
First Vice President: David Raij (Uruguay)
Second Vice President: Edgardo Band (chairman of FEDECC, Argentina)
Future vice presidencies will be given to representatives of Masorti federation to be established in the countries with more than one Masorti kehillah
Secretary: Yves Barsimantov (Per?)
Deputy Secretary: Leandro Galanternik (MAROM AMLAT)
Treasurer: Andres Kan (President of MERCAZ Argentina)
Shaliach- member of the executive: Yoel Schvartz
Members ex officio: Rabbi Adrian Gottfried (President Regional Rabbinical Assembly) and Pablo Benarroch (President of the Seminario Rab?nico)

30th Anniversary of the Masorti Movement in Israel
The Masorti Movement in Israel will launch its celebration commemorating 30 years since the movement was founded. Two days of study will take place on Dec. 27-28 at Kfar Maccabiah. A gala dinner will be held on Thursday, Dec. 27 in the presence of President Shimon Peres and will honor three individuals of vision and action: Mr. Herschel Blumberg, Dr. Irit Zmora and Rabbi Mauricio Balter. Leaders from each kehillah will also be honored.
